I am screaming FED UP with this overwhelming amount of information, growing interest, and still growing bellies! What is missing here? Is everything we know true? Is it just we are not living it? Are we addressing the real issues – especially spiritual loss and hunger?

This is a series of weight loss podcast – and we are determined to tackle truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth.

Our gracious co-host, Ann Musico (Certified biblical health coach, nutrition consultant, author, founder of 3D Vitality) shared one piece of the puzzle today:

The myth and truth of fat – you will learn what to include/remove from your next shopping trip, and extremely important but simple change to how you cook.

Ann and I bring our passion and knowledge to you and, not just wish, but let’s all embrace a healthier 2012. Especially when Ann offers this AMAZING 7 week coaching package for $65!

As we continue to bring truth about weight loss into our future episodes, we would love your questions and comments!

Joel, this is awesome. May I add my thoughts as someone who sees the US from the outside and, obviously, as being someone who has been affected a lot by the craziness of the weight loss industry.

When I came to the US to go to high school there (in 2004), I was more than shocked by the mixed and conflicting messages circling around media. Another thing that shocked me was the overwhelming number of massively overweight teenagers. I was shocked by what teenagers would order to eat in high school. No healthy options in sight.I think that people are just completely out of touch with nature.
Although we have a growing number of overweight people in Europe too, things are not as drastic.
In Europe eating homemade meals is something you just do. There is no going to a restaurant on a weekday, just because you are too lazy to cook.
I hate to be so critical, but it is just something I observed.
I also believe that the mixed messages of the media hurt the process of living a healthy life or figuring out what that even is. There is so much emphasis on being SKINNY and DIETING that people are overwhelmed.
I believe that we should start eating NORMAL and HEALTHY and put the emphasis on these things instead of LOSING WEIGHT.
There is a huge gap in the educational system regarding healthy eating as well. People don’t even know what that is anymore.
Just to say it again, dieting is not normal eating. We need to figure out how to balance these messages and suggest a healthy way of life instead of something else.

I so appreciate your comments especially as you come from another culture.  As someone who grew up in a home where home cooked meals were the normal and going out was a once in a while special treat – I totally agree.

I also agree that dieting and being skinny isn’t the answer.  Health – wholeness – spirit, soul and body are what we need.  We must eat the way God intended, in my opinion, real food in a balanced way, in order to have energy, vitality and true health – which will all result in a healthy weight naturally.

      Thank you for your comments.

Wonderful show!  I saw this show when leaving a comment on Finding Your Voice.
Excellent content and break down.  It is a clear cut approach to health and the reminder of how to really look at food.  I found the information on fats good insight.
Thank you Dr. Kang and Ann!

    K, bye
