I started a path of self discovery in February of 2010 and began reading books, taking personality assessments, and attending a couple of conferences to really get to know me. By the first of November I realized that there was no way I could do this on my own. I needed someone to guide me, push me and help me along the way. Although I had been talking to friends and family about my journey, I felt I needed someone who didn’t know me.
Someone who had no prior expectations or experience with me. Through 48 Days I found Joel. WOW….what a blessing. First of all, he had a lot of patience! It is a difficult process to really be honest with yourself, about yourself, values and dreams. He would ask a question and patiently wait while I pondered it. I loved the “homework” because it really kept me on track and moving forward. Without the homework and his guidance I would still be dabbling in self-discovery. Since working with him I have my website up (www.thelisaeffect.com) and am well on my way to pursuing the work I love! Thank you Joel!!

I met Joel a few months after I recovered from a 14 year long fight with anorexia. I was terribly confused about what to do with my life. I knew what I was passionate, but was uncertain about going on unconventional way. I was basically standing in my own way. Joel knows exactly which questions to ask. When working with him, I found out things about myself I had not known before. He makes you dig really deep and brings up the best in you. I began to feel empowered and worthy of success. I began to believe in myself. After our first conversation, I was ready to start pursuing my dreams. I literally hung up the call and went right to work. Listening to Joel’s podcast is another frequent source of encouragement! Having the chance to work with Joel is truly a blessing.

Thank you for your welcoming and helpful spirit, and for your abilities as a coach, to help me draw out of myself my skills, abilities and strengths, and the possibilities they offer. I think coaching with you has been life-changing! Throughout the process I learned to do something that I have never done before, give myself permission to “be” me. I learned to really be excited about who God made me to be and recognize my strengths as really valuable. Now, I am learning to “RUN” or shall I say take action to create the life that I’ve been dreaming about and not feel guilty about it. I thank God for what you do and how you do it. Your coaching has blessed my life and I am sure I will bless others because of it!

I met Joel, and his wife Pei, on the No More Monday’s Cruise with Dan Miller, author of 48 Days To The Work You Love. Before the cruise, I had heard Joel’s name but had never had any personal interaction with him. That all changed after we met on the cruise. Joel was one of Dan’s featured speakers on the cruise and I got to hear his story of how he helps people find their passion and turn it into a career that they love. The stories that he shared showed that he has a heart for helping people find their unique calling.Since the cruise, Joel and his wife, Pei, has taken my Podcasting A to Z course. He already had an existing blog/podcast in place. There is something to be said for someone who invests in taking what they are doing and looks for ways to improve what they offer.Hear Cliff’s story: “Real passion – Real profit”. I am so excited about Joel’s newest podcast launch titled “Finding Your Voice.” I think you should check out Joel’s podcast and if you are simply going to work to draw a paycheck, you may want to seek Joel’s help in finding your own unique calling and a career that will be the work that you love!

I met Joel through Cliff Ravenscraft and then through the 48 days community. First thing that struck me when listening to the Joel and Cliff interview: his sincerity with a deep desire to help others understand and pursue their life’s purpose. Then I learned that Joel specializes on helping women and particularly single women and moms through this process and that seems to be his precise gift. The response from his loyal community is amazing and the way he engages with all of us – I should know after our wonderful encounters – is truly remarkable. I cannot recommend his podcasts and his resources enough.

I started listening to Joel’s podcasts about two or three weeks ago. The information and inspiration that is shared on his show make me believe that my dreams can indeed become realities. One of my favorite scriptures is, “ALL things are possible with God.” It’s wonderful to listen to “everyday people” who have “gotten out of the boat.”

Thank you so much for your help on our call last Wednesday to help me prepare for the upcoming–and future–consulting calls. The call was a big success! We talked through the 4 main questions, and she was not only receptive but there was a noticeable difference in her excitement & hope between when she talked about her past & current situations vs. when we talked about her future and what she wants to be able to get from it. Towards the end of the call, she said, “It really sounds like nothing but positive things can come from this.” We even came in right “on schedule” for the time you & I talked about.
Cindy Cindy from Ohio
I have a confidence now that I really don’t believe ever existed before; a freedom of sorts. It’s incredible! All these years I think I was trying to talking myself into being confident. Now it’s coming naturally because I’m actually walking in my element and loving it. WOW…WOW…WOW!!!The One Woman’s Journey book is thought provoking and takes the reader through a process of thinking to doing. Heather’s story (the woman in the book) could be our own. We do what is expected, or use only the skills we possess. But it is much more than that, and Joel’s process will take you on a powerful journey.

This is the email she sent to Ashley, Dan Miller’s daughter.Hi Ashley,About six weeks ago, you referred me to Joel Boggess for coaching. We completed our third coaching session today, and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you. Joel is a phenomenally talented coach. He’s forcing me to really dig deep and think about myself and my life in ways I never could have achieved on my own. He’s also extraordinarily patient, even when he hears “I don’t know” for the 100th time. The man is truly a gem.Thank you for sending me to precisely the person I needed to help me figure out how to move forward. I can’t tell you how excited I am to make the next stage of my life unfold the way I want it to.Best regards,
Kathleen JaffeKathleen’s second email to Ashley. This one right after we wrapped up our coaching.Ashley,Earlier this week, I wrapped up my coaching with Joel Boggess, to whom you referred me a couple of months ago.For the past four years (!), I’ve known that I need to make a fundamental change to my life. I read your dad’s books, I read other books on the subject, I meditated, prayed, took skills assessments… you name it, I did it. But no matter what I did, I couldn’t figure out how to take my particular blend of skills, talents, and passions and turn them into work that would allow me to do well and do good.In eight short weeks, Joel was able to get me from full-on panic mode into a clear, focused direction for my life and my work. He didn’t accept anything less than my best effort, and he supported and encouraged me every step of the way. Joel is a fantastic coach, and a great new friend, and I’m so lucky to have found him through you.Thank you again for sending me Joel’s way, and I look forward to coming out to the Sanctuary one of these days so I can meet you and Dan in person.Best regards,Kathleen Jaffe
Challenge your thinking. Change your life. Change the world.

I never could have imagined the day I filled out a coaching questionnaire on 48days.net that when I hit submit my world was about to change.I had been wearing the shoes on the wrong feet and it was leaving blisters. I was in search for truth and had prayed for the right people to be placed in my life. One click of the mouse brought Joel and his story. God started speaking through him during our coaching sessions and as I read his “Daily Insights”. He invested the time to help me find strength in truth. One of my favorite insights he posted was “To confront the person you’ve been told to be, with whom you truly are, Is to intervene in your own life.” He set the stage so I could step out in my new shoes and he can do that for you too. His first book is also another great tool to use in the amazing journey of self discovery.

I have known Joel for a number of years. As he has grown his business, I have seen the burning desire he has to help people discover what really makes them excited. He asks questions that help you easily recognize your core values. Ironically, often it is easy to miss those values within ourselves. Joel is an all around great guy and is doing much needed work to help people find their way to the work they will love. Keep up the good work Joel.

You’ve been working with my mom, Kim Hall, for a while now, and the change that I’ve seen in her in that time has been remarkable. I know that she has put a LOT of work into her business plan, her writing – herself, really – and I absolutely give her the credit for the hard work. But since you are her coach, I wanted to write to you and express my thanks at showing her the way.I admit, I was a little skeptical when she first told me that she was hiring a coach. But it was apparent almost immediately that this was a very good thing for her. Where she was despondent before, she is now absolutely vibrant and full of not just hope, but passion and energy and excitement. She and I are very close – we talk on the phone almost every day. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to talk to her and have her be bursting with ideas and plans (and when you asked to interview her for your podcast? I don’t even remember the last time I saw her that excited!). She’s always had great ideas, and I’ve always known that she’s capable of so much more than — and isn’t defined by — the jobs that she’s had, and now it’s clear to me that she’s well on her way to living the kind of life that she both wants and deserves. It makes me happy to see her so happy and hopeful.I’m very, very grateful to you for everything that she’s learned from you, and all the guidance that you’ve provided for her.

I had the privilege of working with Joel and would absolutely hands down recommend him as a skilled and knowledgeable coach and mentor. I immediately was able to be comfortable and connect with Joel during our very first coaching session. He offered encouragement, honesty, and a plethora of valuable and practical ideas to improve the way I do business. He is also one of the nicest people I’ve met and I consider him both a like-minded business professional and a kind and considerate friend for life.

I was grateful to have a couple of coaching sessions with Joel as I was starting a job search a few months ago. As I was starting the process I realized that I was actually having fun! It was amazing how much difference the DISC and Strenghs Finder assessments and Joel’s coaching made as I was considering which positions to apply for and whether I would enjoy the work or not. This was such a change from the “hoping they might hire me and oh please, save me” mentality. Who was that woman anyway?I have subsequently been laid off, a real blessing and answer to prayer, and I’m spending this luxury of time finding the work that I love and pursuing Free Agency. The time spent with Joel and the on-going support of the 48Days groups I belong to and the people I meet there is a major component of the success that I KNOW is right down the road. Thank you Joel and thank you 48Days Community!

I needed a breakthrough and you have been and still are a very real part of my process. You helped me to push through all of the fear, procrastination and self-defeating mindsets.God works through people, who are willing to be used by Him. I was sharing our coaching sessions with a girlfriend who lives in Brooklyn, NY. I told her that you are like a Mid-wife in that, you help people “birth their destiny”- in other words before I met you I was so stuck, I was experiencing labor pains because I wanted to free.By sharing the three MOST important components of my mission you helped me to “believe” that I could really do this. It was time for me to break free:)… Joel, know that you are making the world a better place. It’s amazing. I was looking over my journal at one of my prayers. I had asked God to give me “specific” instructions on how to build the ministry/business. When I read that, it became clear to me that He was doing just that through you. I highly recommend 4 Points Coaching to anyone that help with clarity, direction and focus.

I had reached a point in my life where my job as a Pharmaceutical Sales Professional was taking a great toll upon my mental, physical and spiritual health. I was clearly doing something that I no longer (if ever) enjoyed and knew that I needed to make a change, but had no idea how to do it! During the six months that I worked with Joel, he helped me to understand my personality type, identify the talents and skills I possessed and encouraged me to take action in order to discover what I loved doing! I decided to leave my old job and pursue the dream of starting my own business. I would not have had the courage to make these big changes without the help, encouragement and support of Joel and 4Points Coaching! I highly recommend Joel to anyone who is standing at a crossroads and not knowing which direction to go. He will help you create a more compelling future and find the work that you love!David B. Joel knew that I wanted to make a change in my practice to include other services to help people. However, I did not make the necessary changes until he explained how I would be of better service to all by making the changes that allowed me to fully enjoy getting up to go to work each day including Mondays. I appreciate Joel’s help, and he can help you see beyond your own self imposed limitations.

After working 24 years in IT Support, I was laid off at the age of 56. I quickly discovered the job market in Metro Detroit Michigan was saturated with many other talented “unemployed” IT people.
Since I wasn’t having any luck with a “traditional” job search, my wife and I decided to look for a career coach. Already being fans of Dan Miller, we filled out his coaching application form and Dan highly recommended we work with Joel Boggess.Working with Joel was a great learning experience, which included the process of discovering my talents and passions. Joel assisted me in creating a “written” plan and gave me the confidence to pursue my calling in life.Joel Boggess and Dan Miller ROCK!
Amy Amy from Minnesota
Joel was amazing to work with as a career coach! I learned much about myself, what I enjoy doing, and where to focus my energy in relation to my skills and passions. Joel worked with me intellectually, spiritually, and psychologically to help me realize my passions, skills, goals, gifts, and talents.Once those passions, skills, goals, gifts, and talents were realized, he helped me pull them together into my “sweet spot” and came alongside me as I formed in my mind what I should do with that “sweet spot.” I had already known that I wanted to start my own business, but that knowledge solidified and was clarified with Joel’s help.I also loved working with Joel as a Christian. Everything we worked on together was under Christ’s leadership and done in a Biblical mindset. I would readily work with Joel again in the future and was blessed to have had him as a coach. I would (and do) readily recommend him to others.

Working with Joel has been both a delight and a challenge. It has been a delight because I have discovered my calling. Joel has also helped me explore and analyze how to live out that calling to create a life of fulfillment that also generates enough income to provide for my family.Working with Joel has been a challenge, because for me, discovering my calling was not easy. It was a gut wrenching, deep questioning type of quest. I had to break through a lot of misconceptions and protective shields in my own thinking. Joel guided me with patience and wisdom. He would not let me stop short of discovering my calling and he has continued to challenge my thinking as I make decisions on how to move forward.Joel has helped me explore and address issues related to career, family, personal convictions, and daily disciplines. His insight is on target, his life experience gives him realistic understanding, and his depth of character and integrity are excellent. He is a man I trust and appreciate.

We usually feature more than one speaker for the Women of Faith and Power Conference; and in our past experiences, the presenters have all been women. This year (2011) we broke both traditions. Recommended to us by one of our long-time members, we had faith in Liz’s ability to discern and, having participated in the women’s conferences before, confidence in her choice.Joel exceeded our expectations and, judging by the women’s participation during the conference, and conversations afterward, he did the same for our ladies. While the conference was scheduled on a Saturday, he showed up a few days prior and was eager to meet and socialize with our members. As a bonus, his lovely wife, Pei, fly in the day of the event and took an active role in the “Embracing your Uniqueness” presentation. She and he were entertaining and playful as they made light of their differences and pointed out how they had learned to weave their styles and strengths together. With sincerity and humility, Joel and Pei challenged our ladies to tap into their best features and to harness their enduring qualities. We were truly blessed by the word he and Pei delivered and we look forward to inviting them back. He and Pei are always welcome at Holy Trinity.

At forty-seven years old I have been unemployed for the last SEVERAL months and I am so excited to be in a process of finding the path I want to take so that I can have purpose and passion in the future work that I do and in return have a much more rewarding and fulfilling life! I HAVE BEEN TIRED OF FEELING LOST! AND, I WANT TO PLAN MY WORK AROUND MY LIFE!!!My work at my previous employer, who I was employed with for twenty-one years and eight months, was never a passion; in fact my decision to take the initial job, at age twenty-four as a single woman with no external pressures, was based on money alone. After several years, I eventually resolved myself to finding or maybe stumbling upon my passion after retirement with this employer. AND THEN, my plans changed!A few months ago I decided to take coaching consultations with Joel Boggess and while I was optimistic from the beginning, with a smidgen of doubt mixed in, I am now even more confident that this was a great decision. My discussions with Joel have helped me to dig deeper and have drawn things out of me that were either covered up for so long or they were new realizations for me.The Personality Style Report I received from the assessment I took, while it confirmed some personality tendencies I was aware of, it provided additional insight on my personality style as well as giving me information on the type of tasks and work environment that would be more suited to me. In addition, I received information on my true communication style versus my public or perceived communication styles which was very interesting and new to me!My favorite, The Strengths Finder 2.0 Report revealed my top five strengths that I was unaware of or didn’t realize some of these were considered strengths. Through introspection and during my conversations with Joel, I was able to recall situations where I have used these strengths in my life.In the last couple of months, with the guidance and various tools I have received during this process and with introspection, I have learned so much about myself and I am so grateful! I truly feel that I have direction for the first time in my life and I am so excited about this journey and where it will take me!!!

I really benefited from working with Joel as a personal coach. I initially called him to because I wanted business coaching. However, he worked on my whole life, including my business at the same time.
We talked about the values I wanted to bring to all aspects of my life and the steps to get there. Time budgets, niche marketing, defining my goals were part of the process but more importantly Joel himself and his heart and knowledge added to the coaching value. Every day I put into practice something that Joel has taught me.I recommend this organized, caring and knowledgeable coach for personal and business coaching.
Pam Pam from North Carolina
I was inspired by the book by Dan Miller titled “No More Mondays” and felt a need to seek life coaching to evaluate where I was in my life and career. I began my life coaching adventure with Joel Boggess in January 09 and I must say it was worth every penny. I was at a point in my life where I had lost sight of my direction and really needed assistance assessing my gifts and how I might best use them in my next life chapter. Joel helped me navigate my next steps, helping me establish goals and take steps to achieve them. I tend to lose focus easily (short attention span), so it was helpful for someone like Joel to help me stay on course and establish a plan for my life and career. I would highly recommend coaching to anyone who needs perspective and would like to expedite the process of moving forward in their lives.

Oh, God bless him and his beautiful wife. What a blessing they were to me, and his material has blessed my husband and children.

He (Joel) helped me see what careers would fit me best and where I can be excited to go to work everyday. Joel does very well at challenging the mental road blocks we all have.If you are open with yourself, Joel can step you through the process of stripping away social conditioning which has forced most of us to become a type of confused someone we rather not be.Joel helped me see the best parts of who I am and embrace them. He also showed me how I was sabotaging myself when I tried to work too hard at overcompensating for who I am not. When I understood who I am, finding the career was easy to embrace.I will have to say, you must be willing to do a lot of work. Joel knows how to ask the right question, but ultimately I had to answer them. I am happier now then I have been in a long time.

Working with Joel over the past few months has been an inspirational journey of a lifetime. He’s helped me to “tap into” and understand my personality traits and uncover my passion for helping people and more specifically my calling to Inspire people. It is a process that I didn’t understand would be so difficult, but looking inward and taking stock of where I am in my life, where I’m going with my current course versus where I want to be has been profoundly insightful. I know for a fact that I could not have done this on my own, which I recognized up front and went in search of a good coach.I was fortunate to have meet Joel at a Free Agent Academy event and got to know him as well as several other coaches. His message of finding clarify of focus is what connected me to him, as it was an answer to prayer. I had been and continue now to pray daily for clarity of focus in my thoughts and actions.I’m relieved to have uncovered my calling and am working towards how to put wheels under it and build a successful business model. I have learned also over the course of the past few months to allow myself time to just be still and listen to what the Lord is calling me to do with my life. I have to practice that daily, because it’s not in my nature to be still or quiet. He has a plan for all of us if we allow ourselves to be open to hear His call.Lastly, I want to share a scripture passage that has become the mantra for my life now. “God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings.” (1 Peter 4:10) God Bless you Joel
Jim Jim from Florida
I was referred to Joel Boggess, by Dan Miller, to assist me in my quest to identify the work that I would love. I’ve discovered the quest to be more of a life process, and Joel has been a great source of ideas and support in that process.More importantly, he’s helped identify strategies to make the many areas of my life more successful. I am pleased with the results I have achieved with Joel as my coach and highly recommend him if you desire to take your life to the next level.Joel will not take you there – you must do the work, but he will skillfully lead you down the path of self-discovery where true changes can only take place.
Women of Faith and Power Conference 2011 – Liz from Texas
Once again, God did not disappoint us during our annual Women of Faith and Power Conference. This year’s keynote speaker was author and life coach Joel Boggess, along with his wife Pei. Joel and Pei challenged us to move from wandering in the wilderness to seeking God for our higher calling and then take the leap of faith to live life on purpose.A powerful and pivotal moment was when Joel gave his testimony about his childhood and the abuse and other perils his mother suffered. Subsequently, a chain of events propelled him to where he is today. As well, I am carving out quiet time, each day, to see what the Lord is saying, allowing Him to speak and bring Divine ideas for the next level of my ministry. My life is forever changed, and I am now ready for an un-chartered, adventurous and purposeful life in Christ!
Thanks Joel!
