It was getting close to Christmas, 2007, when I was given the unique opportunity to bring an inspirational message to none other than the very king of positive words, Zig Ziglar.
I had been attending the morning devotionals at Ziglar headquarters for about a year.
I had learned that there were two things you could count on for the Monday morning meeting:
1. A good speaker with a powerful message would be on deck; 2. Unless he was on tour, Mr. Ziglar would be there with his Bible and his notepad.
Fighting back tears of triumph, after recounting the story of how God had snapped His fingers and lifted the dark sheet of a coma that was draped over me at the tender age of six, I asked Zig and his assistant if it would be OK if we snapped a picture. Quick with an answer and always with a smile, Zig was happy to oblige and I quickly handed the camera to his assistant.
After a few clicks, Jay, his assistant, handed back my camera and I started folding it up to put it back in its case.
Always in form, Mr. Ziglar looked at me and asked, “Is that one of those digital cameras?”
After assuring him that it was indeed what he asked, with true Ziglar style and without missing a beat, he quipped, “I like those digital cameras. No negatives.”

With the heart of a teacher and the patience of a friend, Joel blends his educational experience, (a Master’s in Counseling and an MBA) together with a passion for helping others to realize their God-given potential.
