To be influenced by someone else’s pessimism is like drinking from a muddy fountain. -jb
And similar to a fountain, the words of a pessimist will continue to flow until everyone within reach is drenched.

Michelle Kwan didn’t reach the highest levels of figure skating by accident.
When Nadia Comaneci became the first gymnast ever to earn a perfect score of 10 in an Olympic event, is was not by luck.
And it had to be something in the water when Michael Phelps, enduring a broken wrist, decided to continue his training for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
We know how that worked out for him; bringing home an unprecedented eight gold medals.
Success did not happen by chance for these people.
They had to know in their hearts where they wanted to take their career and life; trusting that the best strategy would show up.
Either through their own wisdom, or that of someone else.

It was getting close to Christmas, 2007, when I was given the unique opportunity to bring an inspirational message to none other than the very king of positive words, Zig Ziglar.
I had been attending the morning devotionals at Ziglar headquarters for about a year.
I had learned that there were two things you could count on for the Monday morning meeting:
1. A good speaker with a powerful message would be on deck; 2. Unless he was on tour, Mr. Ziglar would be there with his Bible and his notepad.
Fighting back tears of triumph, after recounting the story of how God had snapped His fingers and lifted the dark sheet of a coma that was draped over me at the tender age of six, I asked Zig and his assistant if it would be OK if we snapped a picture. Quick with an answer and always with a smile, Zig was happy to oblige and I quickly handed the camera to his assistant.
After a few clicks, Jay, his assistant, handed back my camera and I started folding it up to put it back in its case.
Always in form, Mr. Ziglar looked at me and asked, “Is that one of those digital cameras?”
After assuring him that it was indeed what he asked, with true Ziglar style and without missing a beat, he quipped, “I like those digital cameras. No negatives.”
When one accomplishes the low expectations that they’ve set for themselves, meaning remains elusive and fulfillment, an afterthought. -jb

Business coaching is for business owners that do not want to remain average or be classified as merely a good company. It is for business owners who want to rise above the competition, to reach the top 2% of businesses that are classified as great companies. If you want to remain normal, business coaching is not for you.
Marketing and sales isn’t about trying to convince, coerce people into buying your services. It’s about putting yourself out in front of, and offering your services to, those whom you are meant to serve-people who already need and are looking for your services. –Michael Port
Long after people forget what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel. –Tim Sanders, author of “The Likeability Factor: How to Boost Your L-Factor and Achieve Your Life’s Dreams”.
This is a critical step in developing and growing your business and while it may be easy to identify some of the features your product or service has built in, customers are only interested in the benefits and value they gain. Do you know which emotions are attached to what you provide? You may be surprised.
You don’t get paid for the hour. You get paid for the value you bring to the hour. –Jim Rohn
Don’t keep yourself a secret. Share your story. Is there is a specific reason why you chose to go into a particular line of work or business? Maybe it’s to advance a cause or fulfill a societal need. Whatever your reason is, let others know about it. Customers and clients are interested in connecting on a deeper level.
“People who see their business as a job aren’t entrepreneurs but technicians suffering from entrepreneurial seizures…they spend their time working in the business rather doing what entrepreneurs do, which is to work on the business.”- Michael Gerber – The E-Myth
How is your business poised for success?
In today’s competitive job market, the creative job seeker has a tremendous advantage.
Only 10-15% of the positions available ever appear in the paper, and there is an even better way to search for your next opportunity than Internet.
85% of the reasons people receive promotions, advancements, and opportunities in companies are due to personal skills – attitude, enthusiasm, self-discipline, and interpersonal ability. Only 15% is due to technical or educational skills and credentials.
Creating your own opportunity can be less risky than staying in a traditional job. (Yes, even in this economy.)
The major difference between successful and unsuccessful job hunters is not skills, education, age, or ability but the way they go about their job search. –Dan Miller
Doing something simply because you have the ability to do so will not lead to a sense of fulfillment and purpose.
One of four businesses can be started with zero capital.
The best way to predict your future is to create it. – Steven Covey
The higher your transferable skills, the less competition you will face for the job you are seeking.
What is unique about me and what is my best fit?
God endows each and every one of us with special gifts. Before looking at possible career matches for your personality style, we need take the time to uncover and zero in on your strengths, passions, and personality style. Then we can take that knowledge and search out opportunities that embrace those pieces of your “born identity”.
How should I position myself during the job search to be competitive?
The traditional processes of flipping through the Sunday classified ads or searching for the ideal job online are vanishing.
Only 10-15% of opportunities ever appear in the paper and the Internet is losing its appeal (from a recruiting standpoint) as recruiters and decision-makers are opting for face-to-face contact with eligible candidates. To set yourself apart from the pack, you must be creative in your approach. The 4 point job search strategy will put you far ahead of the others.
What if I don’t want another corporate job?
If that is true for you, you are linking arms with a growing number of people who are determined to design their job and career, around the life they want.
I realize that this is counter-intuitive to the way most of us were brought up. Most of us were trained to find a job, and then to make a life work. I am suggesting the reverse of that age-old process.
How can I create additional income?
An increasing number of solo-entrepreneurs are taking action on their ideas and turning them into a revenue stream. And I’m not talking about $100-$200 a month selling products to your friends and family. I’m talking about creating a viable economic model around your idea, developing a business plan, and taking action.
How can I build my business around my strengths?
One thing is for sure, we do not live in a one-size fits all world. It doesn’t make much sense to use a cookie-cutter approach when creating and developing your business.
While there may be some key components that are similar, a large part of what will make your business successful is to design it around the best parts of you. To do that, we customize the business plan around your skills and abilities, personality style, values, dreams, and passions.
