One of the beliefs that was stunting his career growth is that he thought his opportunities were limited based on what he went to school for.

Once he understood and took to heart, his schooling wasn’t the limitation he once thought, his attitude quickly lifted as he began to recognize the potential within him, and the options for a meaningful, professional fit.

Matt from Georgia joins us on today’s show and talks about the transformation that’s taken place (and still is) in his personal belief system and how it is powering his next steps. (For him, it goes deeper than just his educational experience.)

Three other beliefs that were at one time holding him back:

To be Godly is to poor and unnoticed;

He’s undeserving of a better life;

A plan has to be complete and perfect before one can begin.

One of the more empowering revelations that came to him:

After years of piling up excuses based on his past, ” I can put them down now.”

    I enjoyed this.  We need know we deserve better.  Yes we can be “thankful we have a job…” with the latest excuse of “the economy,” but we must realize we deserve to stretch our wings and fly.  As Dave Ramsey’s baby steps are set up with the end being to be able to really give and live like no other.  It is hard to live like no other by settling.
    Thank you Joel and Matt for this episode, I needed to hear this part about education.

    K, bye

      Hi Christopher,

      Thank you for listening to the show and sharing.

      Have you been allowing higher education to blur your vision? It’s a more common symptom than most people realize.

    Thanks for the comment, Christopher!  It is amazing how we can let a degree, whether earned or not having it, determine our future.  Even if we don’t use a degree the way we intended we still gain knowledge and life experience in the process.  I am learning that these can be just as powerful as a degree itself.
